Great Brits: Riverfood Farm

Riverford farm started as a small business in Devon supplying vegetable boxes filled with affordable and seasonal produce to the local community. From their regional farms they now provide over 40,000 UK homes a week with their delicious organic treats.

They have been recognised for their work in organic and sustainable farming by winning an array of awards, including Best Organic Retailer at the Soil Association’s Natural and Organic Awards 2013, Farmer of the Year award 2012 and the RSPCA Good Business Award 2011 to name just a few.

At Stephen Einhorn the whole team are passionate about good food, whether organic or supporting local trade. From time to time we even peruse the Riverford website for recipe inspiration, we are big fans of the  rhubarb crumble recipe which has been shared by Riverford cook Kirsty. Lord Einhorn does love a finely cooked crumble.

Our lovely apprentice Justine is a particular fan of Riverford as she grew up only a few miles away from their flagship farm. Whenever she is in the area she is regular visitor to Wash Farm’s restaurant and café shop and loves to sample the home cooked meals made with ingredients grown on site. You can spot Justine and her Granddad in the photo above which was taken on their last visit!
